I'm terribly in need of a warm breezy summer night. I miss the choir of Spring Peepers, the guttural bellowing of the giant bullfrogs, the elegant hoots of the owls, and the violin-like chirping of the grasshoppers. I miss the celestial flowers in bloom and, most of all, I miss the cool waters in the hot midday sun.
I took these images last summer. The bullfrog was taken at Lake Park in Coshocton, Ohio. Three little boys were walking around the lake trying to find the perfect spot to catch the biting fish. As I walked by the boys I asked if I could take some pictures of their squirmy finds. They were all too proud to show off their prizes (upper left).
The purple flowers image was taken at the Mormon Temple in Columbus, Ohio. This building is surrounded by beautiful foliage every summer. It amazes me how striking it gets every year.
Maybe the groundhog who saw his shadow was a little confused and our warm spring days can cheer us up faster! I wish you all a "less cold" winter!
